I just made preacher cookies for the first time, and I was expecting them to harden and be crunchy, but they're really soft. Do I need to let them cool for a longer time? ( I think I only let them cool for like five minutes) or did I put too much milk in? (I only put in like 1/2 cup)

I don't know.. can someone help me out?

try putting them in the oven longer at a low heat, this should help with the excess moisture.

if that does not work chances are the recipe might have been different then the one you tried originally.

PREACHER COOKIES

1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
3 lg. tbsp. crunchy peanut butter
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. oatmeal

On stovetop, mix and boil for 3 minutes butter, sugar and milk. Remove from heat and add rest of ingredients. Place on waxed paper by the spoonful. Let cool and ready to eat.

My "Mama" called these Preacher Cookies because they are fast to cook in case the Preacher drops by unexpectedly.
