combination of lack of circulation and pinching some nerves, usually caused when you sit on it or bend it in an awekward position for an extended period of time..
When the circulation is started again, and the nerves jangle up, you get the tingling feeling.

Oh well that is simple! Not that i am a know it all and all. I know what you mean when your feet feel like a billion needles are poking at it and that is when you have your legs in a weird position. For example... when you are sitting criss-cross- applesauce. You are putting pressure on your veins and slowing down the blood flow! If you are still confused... well then you are on your own!

Either, it's because your blood flow has been cut off or the position your in might be causing some pressure against a nerve.

the normal cause is the blood circulation has been cut off to that appendage sitting on one position for too long will cause this in your legs, sleeping with your arms under you will cause your arms to "go to sleep" and so on. There are neurological problems that Can cause this too, such as Migraine headaches, and I pray for you this isn't your problem, they are GROSS!!!!!!!

It's partly due to bad blood flow. Specially if it happens when you are only in one position. Stretch your limbs! Take a break.
I constantly stretch and move around. Good luck!

This happens when you don't move your feet for a while, and they "fall asleep". Then sometimes when you move them they get that spiky feeling.

it happens when you position yourself in a way that restricts blood flow to the area for an extended period of time
