You may want to feed her dry food because wet food mostly contains water. One trick to get her to use the litter box before you leave is to make sure that it is clean and to add some litter (while she is watching) so that she is interested in using it. Most cats will.
I wouldn't be too worried because you have taken this trip many times. You also may want to have an extra towel or blanket (or whatever) to place in the carrier should she have another accident.

Its better not to feed your kitty on the morning before the trip - or if you do, give her only a tin bit of wet cat food. Instead, feed her a slightly bigger serving at 6pm or 8pm the night before and see that she goes potty before you hit the road. A cat will be perfectly fine without eating for 24 hours (unless he is an obese cat). Anyway, buy some pet pee liners from the petsore and line the bottom of kitty's carrier with it. This way, if kitty has an accident, she'll keep dry.

Youn can pull food it will not hurt her. But you may want to try DryFur cat pads. Cats who are prone to have accidents in the carrier are not doing it because they eat or drink too soon before driving it is usually a stress response to the travel. She will eventually get used to it and probably start to even like the car rides but until them make it as easy as possible on her by lining her carrier with DryFur.

I had the comparable undertaking. I solved my undertaking by way of construction a gate interior the doorway to the room (kitchen) that my cat eats in. The bars on the gate are extensive adequate for the cat to in nice condition via yet no longer the canines. Now the cat can consume in peace and has an area the place she gets far off from the canines. EDIT: I geared up my very very own gate out of scrap timber. it rather is approximately 5 ft tall. It in basic terms value some money. No way for the canines to hurdle it and my canines is incredibly tall and a jumper. If she tries to climb over the gate, it will crumple decrease than her 90lbs and that i will hear it.

hey man, bring your litter box with you. Half way through your trip, let the cat use it. then just dispose of the used cat litter. I took my cat on a 5 day trip with me. Just stop and get a coffee and let your cat do what she has to do while you are inside getting a java

You should time it, it takes a human being about 2-3 hours to digest and less for animals? They use the bathroom all the time don't they? Make a few stops and let your baby do her business...:)

Don't feed her in the morning and then feed her when you get home - basically all she can eat.
Let her eat all she can tonight.

it won't kill her to skip a meal just make sure she has water ... maybe make a point of putting her in the litter box just before you leave. if your cat is really set on routine it may get her a little upset when that routine is upset. make sure you show her a little more affection than usual.
