no, i personally don't like rock music but as long as it is worshiping God or Jesus in church then that is no sin. for the people who happen to like only rock then let them worship God or Jesus in a way that is Godly and makes them want to praise God.

I haven' seen that video, but I do remember Madonna's video in the church ("Like a Prayer" I think it was).

Is it sinful? It could be, but not for the sake of Rock, but rather the context of the song.

Did the song or video make light of the church?

Even if it did, I'm not sure that the singing act was sinful in itself, so much as the attitude and intention from the performers/directors/producers.

And yes.... there are many who have irresponsibly presented rock and roll in a Christian context. Then again, there are many others who were great. I reckon Pete Stewart (former lead singer of Grammatrain) was/is one of the best, and Mike Roe (77's) still rocks.

Trouble is, the majority of market for Christian music prefers pop and pop/worship genres.

In my mind - generally, No! If the song is found to be offensive to a particular religion, then Yes!

MCR has some fine tunes but I'm an older person and am not familiar with ALL of their work.

If the song mocks or ridicules a common belief, not worth taking the chance.

I love your kitty pic.
Um I believe rock music in Chruch is okay, wether its Christian or Not depend on the lyrics u know. Like My Chemical Romance, I know of their music it sounds cool. Havent listend to their lyrics much, but one of the skeleton videos on top of a building just shows me there dark, and "trying to be cool" like the rest of the rock groups w/ the image that they need to fit in this day and age. Its not cool to not have a rock song and sing happy stuff, its cool for it to be dark and gloom, and thats not right for the chruch, Cuz the church (which God made) isnt about dark and gloom, its about a supernatural peace and love that no gloom song can relate to. Hope that helps

I don't think singing rock songs in church is the right thing to do.

Bible says to 'sing to God a new song'.
It also says, 'shout unto God with a voice of triumph.'

Truth is that many of the Hymm of the more formal denominations were converted from drinking songs sung in pub of England.
If it glorifies God and the melody helps generate the attitude of worship in your heart then God is pleased with it. It is that attitude that God desires from us. If we couldn't play a note an do nothing but stomp our feed, that could still be worship.

Personally, I see God as a strong and victorious God. I think rock music portrays that, as well as the attitude of joy and humility (in the slower songs) very well.

Yes I say it is very sinful indeed and why blow out
your eardrums to praise and worship
the Lord God this is insane and crazy

Would the Lord Jesus turn up a rock song so darn loud"
and heard half way around the world
and every church goer loses their hearing is this the
will of God or not and I think not

Jesus would not allow us to blast out our ears and go deaf

A lot of traditional Christians believe that hymms are the only true form of music in worshipping to God. You have to realize that everything in this world is created by God and this includes rock music. The way the music is played is not nearly as important as the lyrics in the music.
