I have an enormous pot belly, not grossly overweight, just kind of a middle aged thing. I recently bought an eleiptical trainer and decided to cut soda out of my diet. My lunch at work consists of a grilled cheese sandwhich, ketchup, a bag of pretzels and a water. I run about a mile a day on the trainer and stop eating after supper. How long would it take to go back to being flat chested again?

Have you read the book South Beach Diet? It explains that the main cause of pot bellies is carbs. I like their diet plan anyway, because it seems really healthy and balanced. Im not sure how long it would take you, probably a few months

Make sure your meals all have a beginning and end.
Try and aim for the standard calorie intake per day
Try to do easy exercises that don't cost money such as:
-Sit-ups
-Planks
-Plyometrics
Give your body the urge to burn fat while you sleep by getting your heart rate up before going to bed (a few jumping jacks or sit-ups will work)
If you running make sure you are stretching a lot, for the age you left me to guess i'd say a 10 minute warm-up and cool-down

Instead of eating white bread have wheat, Drink green tea that should help curve you apatite, do sit ups and the running thing is good... Check out WEB MD they have good diet plans... that how i lost my weight! Good luck do give up!!!

I would say about a month and a half!! I love the idea of running a mile a day!! And you might wanna slow down on th echeese because sometimes it can add to your belly fat!! But if you exercise it will be easy to burn!!

It all depends on a number of things. It depends on how many calories you're still eating and how much you're burning when you do that mile. I'd definately check out this website. It's great for weight-loss and you could find tons of articles that could answer all your questions. Oh, yeah, and it's free!

first of all i don't think you really need to cut out sodas they won't hurt you (they've not hurt me and coca cola or lemonade is all i drink!) vary your diet for example try a salad instead of a grilled cheese sandwich or a tuna pasta salad and i found it handy to purchase an electrical treadmill for my home so that i can walk or jog at home when i feel like it without the worry of looking foolish to anyone and if i fall or hurt myself i'm at home! if you want to cut anything out of your diet cut out alcohol and after supper if you feel peckish try a piece of toast!
