I know what to do. I'd write a note saying ( dont worry, its not what you think so keep on reading ) that you like her, asking her if she likes you, and write the answer on the note. Have a friend you TRUST ( if you're friend isn't secretive or trustful then the whole plan can fall apart ) give it to your crush. She'll read and respond writing weather she likes you or not on the note. Then, the note will say to hand it back to your friend. Your friend will hand you the note. Make sure your crush doesn't see this. If the note says yes, she does like you, then go from it from there. If the note says no, she doesn't like you, then when you confront your crush, tell her you have no idea what you are talking about. You'll ask or get your friend over with you two, and then your friend will admit it was all a joke. You may not want to talk to your crush about this in a very public setting. You may not want to write the note in your handwriing but someone else's so that you can bring it up if your crush doesn't believe your friend. Be like" but this isn't my handwriting, see"? That's how I would do it but it could be kinda risky. I never put it to the test before, but unlike most ways of asking to go out with someone, you can fall back if on something if she doesn't like you.
Another way of asking her is to do it in not such a public enviroment. When people are more alone, they feel less pressured to act funny and can be more serious and nicer. In a joking manner or tone, ask her " hey, so if you could go out with me would you"? in a sarcastic way. Then she could be kinda nervous or get all grosed out. Then say"besides, why should I like you, you don't like me". If you were to do this one, be careful. Depending on the type of person, she could tell people about what happened and rumors will spread. This is much much less likely to happen with my other suggestion above this one.
In order to get more noticed, start talking to her. If she is more popular than you, it may be harder to do. Make sure you are comfortable with her 1st. Then without realizing it, you're true colors will pop out. Don't joke around about things with her that you wouldn't want your mom to hear like" you're right, you are ugly", don't say that. Keep on saying good things about her like your smart or nice clothes you are wearing today. You may want to be a little physical as in a friendly push or punched in the shoulder ( unless you know she would get creeped out ), but don't put her arm around her and don't do you know what. Girls will like it if there is a little physical like pushing or whaever going on. But also, before going out or asking her out, make sure you can actually have a conversation with her, or else your relationship will feel awkrard and it won't last very long.

straight out ask her. girls like that you ask them yourself and dont have a friend do it or write a note or text message. ask her in person. if your really nervous though, invite her, and maybe a friend to go do something with you and a few other people. if you choose that path ( its a little less stressful and awkward ) try to spend as much time getting to know her and being around her. at the end of whatever you do, ask her out on a date ( if she had a good time ) Last of all, BE YOURSELF ! and good luck

I know it's cliched, and I probably won't be the only one to say it, but really, the answer is to JUST TELL HER. Honestly! The way I see it, most girls (I'm one of them) LOVE honesty when it comes to these things. They love to see YOU make the first move. Just do it casually, and make sure that she feels comfortable around you. Give her a little smile, and guaranteed she'll be flattered. Good luck, and have fun! :)

Dont be a moron and use something like the internet-phone-etc to tell her, tell her face to face and at the right moment. Dont just blatently tell her, look for signs of her liking you and eventually, one of you will ask the other one out.

do something romantic and sweet, like write her a song or poem about your feelings. Girls love romantic things that sound like they came out of a fairy tale. it will increase your chances of her saying yes and having a better relationship.

just tell her that u like her and if she tells u that she likes u back dont ask her out the same day the next day ask her out.
