The Reverend R. Albert Mohler Jr. who is a national leader in the Southern Baptist Church has publically suggested that there are biological causes for homosexuality which may be proven and that treatments to reverse the homosexual orientation in the unborn would be biblically justified.
The Reverend did state that even if biologically based, homosexuality would still remain a sin and he strongly supports finding a prenatal hormonal treatment that would ensure that a baby would be born heterosexual.
Would you see this treatment as ethical? Would you ever think to choose this for your child?

My children are beautiful, period, end of story.
I suppose this bozo opposes stem cell research.
Grrrr.......
Edit: What annoys me is the assumption the homosexuality is some sort of defect.

I personally don't think it's a biological cause. And I'll say this: Children are not born homosexual, nor is there a "Homosexual gene." It's propaganda. EXAMPLE: If you were, confused about your sexuality and I said "Oh, you have a homosexual gene." wouldn't that mean that God "made a mistake?" People treat it like a disease, instead of what it really is. A lifestyle. You choose to be gay. You. Nothing forces you to be this way. (And don't start with Rape, molestation, etc. Because if you were violated in any way, then you KNOW it was WRONG on the oppressor's part.)

As much as I am against homosexuality - NO IT IS NOT ETHICAL TO DO THAT TO A CHILD! Or an adult for that matter!!!!
That preacher (if he said what you claim) has lost touch with reality. SIN is the cause of sin.., not some biological anomaly. Sin includes heterosexual sins as well as homosexual sins as well as theft, murder, lying and so on.
It is the heart that has to be changed and that only takes place from individual to individual, not through forced biological experiments. Jesus never used surgeons nor did he use genetic alteration to change people, neither did his followers.
If Rev. Albert said what you claim.. he is worse than an apostate. The man is criminally deranged.

Strongly disagree. God didn't put any gay genes in man and they'll never find a prenatal hormone treatment to ensure the sexual orientation of anything. Biological causes for homosexuality has not been proven.

No. I don't. Well, I agree that there is a biological basis. I don't agree with "identifying and degayifying" the potentially homosexual.

Hi Barbara!
Ignorance like that is dangerous. What a colossal idiot. I am totally disgusted that man is even considered part of the human race.
NO! It is not ethical. NO! I would never change my child no matter what his sexual orientation might be.
Hugs!(((((Barbara)))))

As a Christian I say...
God gave man free will and a mind, heart, and Spirit to achieve that free will. Who is man to take it away.
