Is it possible to use my Bell and Howell mini digital camera as a webcam for MSN messenger, or am I gonna have to break down and buy an actual webcam?

Does it say that the camera can be use as a webcam or just video recorder.
Video recorder allows you to record video, but does not allow for video streaming. So if your camera allows streaming than yes otherwise you have to buy a webcam.
Actually you can get really cheap now from walmart

olympus C-5060 can't be used as webcam. it fairly is nowhere suggested in this is literature that this digital camera helps webcam characteristic. You can do anything you want involving the electronic image field except .... passing it off as an actual film camera. The cheapest working manual film camera, imagewise, always outclasses a digital video device.
