Intelligence begets intelligence. Intelligent beings are created by the Intelligent Being - who we call God. He made us in His image, to be like Him, to have the qualities of love, compassion, mercy, joy, creativity, etc. These are all traits that are in human beings who can think.
If we came from a cesspool of single cell amoebas, where did that come from? And why would an intelligent person want to claim a slime pit as the beginning of their lineage??
Finally - we can say all we want, but in the end, God is , was, and always will be. We, on the other hand will find out maybe when it is too late???

There either is a God or there isn't
Either way we're in trouble
If so, we better tend to his every need and worship and obey him.
If not, we're hurling through space at 6,000 miles per hour and no one is in charge.

I will go for Pascal's wager. God is heads. If you wager, heads, and God exists, you win everything. If God doesn't exist and you wager heads, what do you have to lose. But if you wager tails and God exists, then you are in Hell for eternity.
Wager heads, and you have Heaven to win, and at worse, lose nothing.
