How much you make would depend on what part of the country you work in. Also depends on how large the vets business is and if a big city-more money. It's not all about the money anyway. I was a vet tech for a long time and it was a fantastic job. Lots of hours and heartaches. At the same time there are so many good times. If you love animals and feel that you have a special bond with them, you should try it. The rewards are so great. The best job I ever had. I'm retired now so don't do it anymore. Could tell you some stories that would bring tear of joy to your eyes.

I am a vet tech, and anyone looking into making a lot of money doesn't become a vet tech. Where I live (Michigan, USA) the starting pay for a vet tech is around $12.50 an hour, that is what I make. But some places will pay more than that. And I usually work around 30-35 hours a week.

I became a vet tech because I love working with animals AND people, and I knew I would love my job. And I went into this knowing that I was not going to make a lot of money, and that I would probably have some tough times. And this has been true. I would do some more research about vet techs, and other careers working with animals. Find out what goes into the job, and how much that job usually pays. That way you will know that you will love your job, and also be able to make enough money to support yourself. Good Luck!
