Republicans hate immigrants? Not that I know of.

I would go so far as to say that many that claim to be Republicans LOVE not just immigrants - but illegals as well. Just look at BUSH!

I used to vote Republican. I now am looking for someone - no matter what name they want to run under - that will represent the best interests of the citizens of this country over illegals and their home countries wishes.

What??

Bush/Cheney have done ZERO to stop illegal immigration.

I can say this until I'm blue in the face......

Americans don't hate "immigrants", Republican or otherwise. THINKING Americans understand the difference between immigrants and illegal aliens. Americans generally HATE those that disrespect and break our laws.

Nice attempt at muddying the waters!

Republicans are not against legal immigrants, they are against illegal immigrants (or trespassers if that makes it easier). Also, the illegal alien problem was here long before Bush-Cheney administration. It will continue to fester until the immigration laws are enforced (they have to be enforced to work), amnesty will not work, it simply rewards people for breaking the law.

Your question makes no sense. We don't hate immigrants. We hate the fact the laws on the books now are not being enforced which leaves us with illegal aliens, which is different from an immigrant. If they are here legally I say welcome to our country. If they are illegal they need to go home and try again when they can do it right. Also the bill for any welfare payments or food stamps given to illegal aliens should be sent to Mexico. It is not the American taxpayers responsibility to support these people.

I don't hate immigrants. I welcome them. I just believe in the rule of law.

I agree that the immigration laws are cumbersome, but then again so are the tax laws. Let's reform them all!

I fail to see why the current administration is responsible for people entering the US illegally any more than the police are responsible for creating drunk drivers.

As people have said already it is not immigrants, but illegal immigrants. People will say "they are just following the American dream," but the thing is they broke our law. It is the idea, not the action. maybe they should be allowed in, maybe it is the right thing to do, but it is illegal, and in the US, no matter how unjust, or just the law is, if you break it, you pay for your crimes. It is not the illegals they hate, it is just the idea of what they have done.

You left out the word ILLEGAL. LEGAL immigrants, stay. ILLEGAL immigrants need to go back where they came from. But even legal immigrants need to assimilate into U.S. society, with learning English being a major step. They are not in their old country anymore. They should not try to live as if they are still there. If their old country was so good, then why did they leave it to come to the U.S.?

The main point is, they all need to come here LEGALLY or not at all.

Since when? Republicans have been in power for the last decade or so, and the illegals are overrunning our country. Sounds like the aliens are allowing the GOP to fondle their anchor babies in exchange for a "no deportation" ticket.

??? Bush, (Republican) is trying to work out an amnesty bill for ILLEGAL immigrants, which most US citizens object to because breaking the law should not be rewarded.

This is a distraction method, When american corps started sending high paying jobs overseas some liberals became upset and then the right wing media has been ranting about mexicans to overshadow the doings of our corps.... it quiets us down so that no one can hear us.......

the real threat is that millions of our high paying jobs are leaving, not that mexicans cost us money,,, they contribute to the low end labor that americans are no longer willing to do....
