Yes and no. To start with, caffeine will speed up the metabolism but after a few days will block (or produce) (i can never remember) a certain chemical in the liver therefore counteracting any weight loss effects caffeine has.

Caffeine has been shown to slightly increase your metabolism (which is why most diet pills have caffeine), however, caffeine also acts as a diuretic which can lead to dehydration (which will slow down your metabolism) and make you feel hungry leading you to eat more. If you are drinking a ton of water and eating an otherwise healthy diet, caffeine may have some effect, although I doubt it would be too noticeable.

It might get you hyper which can result in weight loss but I would recommend other methods of losing weight.
