All of the above ideas will work SOMETIMES, but not always.
The best way to make sure they peel easily is to use eggs that are NOT very fresh. About 2 weeks old is pretty good.

as soon as the egg is hard-boiled, put the egg into ice cold water for a minute or two.
This will cause steam to form between the egg and the shell insuring that the shell does not stick to the egg.
Peeling the egg becomes easy!

It's been my experience that you boil the loyal
egg for the expected time, and then you
drop the egg in cold water. While in the water,
you peel the egg, after having submerged it
in the cold water, and the shell should be
cast aside most easily.

The way to hard boil eggs :
1. boil water
2.when water is boiled , use a round spoon to put them in the pan so that they don't crack.
3. cook them about 15 to 20 minutes.
4. when done cooking drain the water and then add cold water ,when you feel the water get warm , repeat that process again..
5. Then when its warm again , take them out of the pan and rinse them off again and then I put them in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes and then I take them out , and peel them . I never have a problem . They peel nice.

I was told the fresher the egg the harder it was to peel. I hit the egg to cause the shell to crackel, then take a dinner knife, wet it with plain water and slide it between the shell and membrane, and the hard boiled egg, move it all around the egg, the shell comes right off.

positioned the eggs in a pan of cool water and positioned across to a boil with purely a splash of salt. whilst they're performed run chilly water interior the pot till the water interior the pan is cool. this could make the eggs extra handy to peel. If the eggs nevertheless do no longer peel truthfully, use a spoon to get rid of the egg shell. positioned the spoons curved factor between the egg and the egg shell. this could allow you to pry the shell off of the egg devoid of adverse the egg.

Run them under very cold water immediately after they finish boiling. Also, they only need to boil for 7 minutes to be done. When you run them under cold water it breaks the membrane that connects the egg to the shell.

Didn't know any of those were reasons why they can be hard to peel. I thought it was because the eggs were very fresh.

Yep, salt in the water. The trick is, when you have run them under the cold water, get a piece of kitchen towel and roll them to crack them then peel. Voila!

Put salt in the water while the eggs are boiling. It'll peal off in just a couple pieces.
