Get something you aren't afraid to ding up a bit. If it is your first car, it likely won't stay perfect for long.

If you are really rich, get the V8.

you did not say what model of camaro you wil buy. ne thing to keep in mind about sport cars like camero insurance are expensive depening on the model if you get an IROC camareo or a basic camero model SAM1981 was right if you are rich than you can go with the V8 size engine othereise go with the V6 engine for your first car espeically gas prices are pricy. beside there not much of a V8 around from what I understand so it is easier to find a V6 than a V8 because not too many people wan the V8 so your best bet is to go with the /v6 engine. also I think the v6 are more reliable than the v8 unlike the cadilac car always have the v8 engine. you did not say if you will get a used or brand new car the 70's style are great the 80's model are good and the 90's are Okay but now the new style forget it. I like the 80's model espeically the IROC convertable camero. so use your comon sense and go for the right car you can choose.

V6 would probably be cheaper on insurance (PROBABLY) it would get slightly better gas mileage than the V8 I say this cause I had a mustang that was a V6 but still paid through the nose on insurance. The problem is most insurance companies catagorize a car by name and not usually by type of engine.

If I were you I'd save up and get a 2009 Camaro, and when I say "save up" I mean not only for the car but the for the insurance costs. If it's your first car chances are it's gonna cost you to some length since you may not have an extensive record.

I would probably recommend the V8 as a SECOND or THIRD car. That way you would hopefully have a better cash flow by then to be able to afford it.

GO V8...If you love performance at an affordable price...nothing is better at lighting up a big smile on your face when you mash the throttle than a 93-97 lt1 6 speed camaro.I have owned two 94's and I am considering buying a third. They run 13'9s-14'4s in the 1/4 mile bone stock. The borg-warner t56 transmission and the corvette derived lt1 engine are both dependable and will usually last way beyond 100,000 miles even when driven hard.People worry about gas mileage but the lt1 camaro will get better gas mileage than most pickups heavy suv's on the road.98 and newer came with the 305 hp ls1 run low to mid 13's in the 1/4 and are much more expensive...Your choice though.

Neither, a camero for the first car is an insurance and court room disaster. The problem is yes they are cool but no one can keep their foot out of the gas pedal. I think a Jeep Cherokee is a great first car due to the ability to see out, it does not go super fast, it can carry four passengers and gear, help people move or pick up that puppy you always wanted. They are cheaper on insurance great on fuel cheap to buy cheap to fix and not a cop magnet. The best thing is its a Jeep thing...you just wouldn't understand. Pete

I would have to know your age first. I only say that because it will take a mature person to have all of that power at their disposal to not speed from time to time. smile. First car - V6 yes: Camaro - NO.

No never get that type of car. Your insurance will be more than you could afford. I would get a small used car something like a Dodge Neon, Ford Focus or Chevrolet Cavalier. But for sure get a used one.

Get a 6. They are still fast enough. The later IROC Z's are scary fast and could kill you if you are not an experienced driver.
