How do I hold him back ?

I like this guy.Were not going out but were just seeing each other. he's not really bf material because he loves to skateboard, sometime I just feel like the skateboard is in between us. Well next month pass, we don't really like each other that much anymore because we hardly talk, when were on the phone there's hardly anything to talk about. Next week he told me that he sorta like me only, and I told him I kinda like him too now. the following Monday he wasn't there at school, and I have this weird feelings and I though that I don't like him anymore, but than the next day he went to school and I'm starting to have this feeling that I still like him and I do cares about him but I don't know what to do or say. I know that he moves on fast but is there any way to hold him back ?

Please don't let his skateboard be something that keeps you from liking him. Guys have to have their guy stuff to do, like we gals like to have our gal stuff to do too.
