I must assume you mean human life.
Well, humans are a support group for the real important life on the planet which is leafy green plants.
Leafy green plants perform the primary function on the planet of turning carbon dioxide into oxygen via photosynthesis.
Humans turn oxygen back into carbon dioxide.
Now, the leafy green plants are stationary, that is they can not move. When an excess of leafy green plants grow in one area then there is not enough carbon dioxide for them to convert into oxygen and therefor some of the leafy green plants may suffer, become sick or even die.
Humans are mobile, that is humans can move from one area to another. So when the leafy green plants have become to numerous in one area and have caused an excess of oxygen, humans are able to move to that area and convert the oxygen back into carbon dioxide so the leafy green plants can continue the primary function of life on this planet.
I hope this is clear.

I think everyone has their own specific meaning, but they are all related if you are a Christian, as I am. We are here to give God glory, through worship and obedience. "The Purpose Driven Life" is a good book that helps to answer this question. Check it out sometime.

Life? Well... God made the earth and created all these animals and people and plants and he said "wouldn't it be cool if they could DO STUFF?" So he created life so his creations could move around and interact. We're just God's plaything.

We will not know the meaning of life until we get to Heaven. Only then will we know what our life truly meant.
