You glutton and you didn't invite me over. I absolutely melt over Brie.
Camembert has a bit more of a bite for me but love both of them.
They are, in fact, very similar but there are important differences. In this very important and completely not pointless post, I’m going to give you the facts!
Brie is made with more butterfat, making it oozier and creamier.
Camembert is made with Penicillium camemberti, while Brie is made with Brevibacterium linens.
Brie is flatter and wider than camembert.
Brie tastes a little more mushroomy.
There is a distinct difference between the two.

According to a French Cheese site, the main difference between them is the Brie is made of Ewe and goat's milk while Camembert is made of cow's milk. Another big dif is Camembert is a processed cheese while Brie is not.

They are the same cheese. Camembert always comes in an eight ounce package, while Brie comes in a one or two or six pound wheel. Is this answer to cheesy? Should I Swiss the subject? Are there holes in my argument? Brie and Camembert? Sounds like a French law firm. I thought you were more of a beer and pork rind kind of guy.

The two cheeses are essentially identical - the main difference is size. Brie is typically made in one, two, three and 6-pound wheels. Camembert is always sold as an 8-ounce disk.
