i know that if u want to be health u should only have 2300 calories a day but if your on a diet how many calories should u have?

So in order to lose one pound per week, You would want to cut out 500 calories per day. A healthier way to do this would be to cut out about 250 calories from your diet and exercise to burn the other 250.

If you have a lot of weight to lose (100 pounds and over), a woman should take in 1500 calories per day. If you have less than 100 pounds to lose, 1200 calories per day.

Also, if you workout and burn over 300 calories, you should add 1 lean protein. Don't forget all the water!☺

1200 calories is way way too low. Your body will go into starvation mode and you will stop losing weight. If you need 2300 calories to maintain your weight, drop to about 1800 calories. You want to lose about 2lbs per week to keep it off and remain healthy.

1200 for the ladies - 1500 for the men. That is the bare minimum calorie intake per day without starving yourself.

For a woman, no less than 1200, and 1400 is safer.
