that I want to wait till I am at least 16 to have a boyfriend. I am 14 and have never had a boyfriend or been kissed, I do get really sad about it sometimes but I really don't want one right now. Was anyone else like me? When did you get your first bf? Am I normal?

Yes you are normal and smart. The older you are the more able you will be to deal with relationships. Plus you will be with them for the rest of your life..appreciate the time alone. All things change quickly enough. You will know when you are ready. Hang out with your friends have fun there is no rush for male companionship it will come later.

It is absolutely all right to wait. In fact, it is better when you wait a while. I wasn't allowed to go out on a date until I was 16 and I hated my parents for it. I didn't have sex until I was 18 and my first real kiss was when I was in 10th grade. I remember thinking it was gross. It's okay to have a guy friend that is special and you hang out with if he respects your boundaries. The best thing to do is be honest with what you want. Sometimes that the hardest part. I know I'm glad I waited as long as I did and sometimes wish I had waited longer. I know there is a lot of pressure to do stuff young but what they say is true about just because you develop physically doesn't mean that you are emotionally ready for more. The first time someone touched my breasts I felt violated and horrible. I always had visions of how perfect everything would be. You deserve the best and should wait until you are ready. You'll know it when you feel comfortable with your decision and the person you share yourself with. It's somethings you can't take back so hold on to yourself. Learn to love yourself and enjoy being young before you jump into a world you have the rest of your life to explore.

Look, your fine, 16 is the perfect age, believe it or not, because your not too young to make smart decisions, its just the right spot to date, as long as your ok with it, i dont see why it should matter, your doing a great thing here, you should be very proud of yourself, there are not so many ladies around here today. I think it is just fine, why rush it, you will be old a lot longer than you are young. Have fun while you can and enjoy your youth I didnt have a real boy Friend until I was almost 16 I was still playing football with my brothers and their friends and having a much better time
