My friend recently told me her and her boyfriend never use condoms. She's on the pill and lets him ejaculate inside her. She says as long as she takes it everyday at the same time she doesn't worry at all. They've been doing this for over a year and haven't gotten pregnant yet. That got me thinking... I always thought it was safer to be on the pill AND use condoms, but sources I've looked at (magazines, friends, TV) have suggested that just being on the pill is just as effective and using condoms doesn't decrease the risk of pregnancy at all, it only helps with STD's. Are there any doctors out there who know for sure? Or anybody else that uses only pills? I was just wondering what other people think of this issue. Am I just being too protective thinking that using both is best? Or does it make no difference? Thanks for your opinons and facts. (If you find any links about it, please send them... thank you!)

I only take the pill and me and my fiance don't have any kids! We never use condoms, because the pill works just as good (if not better I think!).

Using both condoms and birth control pills isn't a bad idea though. Birth control pills only protects against pregnancy where condoms protect against STDs and pregnancy. So, it's not a bad idea to use both, I just personally prefer to use only birth control pills with my fiance. Since we are in a long term and committed relationship I don't worry about STDs with him and honestly sex feels a lot better without condoms!
