I havent been able to play many games cause i get errors related to Dirext X programs, even when the software installs its own version of direct x.

I did download off microsft, this game is very old i was able to play it before, but after my computer went through a problem it hasnt been acting hte same

Never ever let the game install DirectX on your PC. All you need is to downoad the DirectX from Microsoft and that's it. Your DirectX version is too old, get the newest version here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en

EDIT: what kind of problem you had before all of this ?? Most DirectX errors are caused by the video card driver, sound card driver or the game itself. Make sure you have the latest drivers and patches.
