You all claim you DON'T hate immigrants, just "illegal ones". Do you think these suggestions on how to handle our supposed "immigration crisis" are rational? These were all posted on Yahoo Answers recently:
"Forced sterilization in exchange for entering the Country"
"Just shoot em' all"
"Decapitate them"
"Put up land mines"
"Killing zones"
If you are all going to tell me you have nothing against LEGAL immigrants please explain why the IMMIGRANTS are the problem, not the SYSTEM that LEGALLY allows drug dealers and people who fly planes into the World Trade Center to come here and denies people who want to feed their families by watching our children, cleaning our streets, washing our dishes and doing our gardening.
This is eerily similar to what the Nazis did in the 1930's!!!!!!!!
Am I justified in being frightened at what is happening to our values?

I am comparing this situation not because we are acting anywhere near as evil as the Nazis, but because it is eerily similar that we are making immigrants the scapegoat for all our problems and using the "it's the law excuse". Being Jewish was against the law, too.

Probably over half of you are not READING the question.
I am not asking whether or not there should be open borders. I have my own opinion, you have yours, another question perhaps.
I am not asking whether or not there are immigrants who take away jobs from U.S. citizens or deal drugs or are on welfare. I do not deny this happens, I do not say it is right, I do not have a problem with deporting THEM.
What I see is a trend of blaming hard working people that give this country way more than they take for our problems.
If you think I am wrong about that, that is fair, tell me.
But PLEASE READ THE QUESTION.

By the way, why is it wrong of me to say what I am seeing is EERILY LIKE what the Nazis first did, but advocating killing immigrants is "obviously a joke"?????????

Let's try this again, this is very frustrating.
I do NOT DENY there are immigrants who deal drugs, steal identities, live off welfare, write graffiti on walls, they can all have a 1-way trip back. WE AGREE ON THIS.
What I am seeing here is people lumping ALL "illegal" immigrants into this category and being blamed for ALL our countries problems. THAT is what is frightening me.
I bring up a comparison to the Nazis NOT because we are acting anywhere near as evil, but because the immigrant bashing, and the "they broke the law" reasoning for the hatred is SIMILAR.
By the way, NOBODY has addressed my question of why a person who flies his plane into the World Trade Center is a "legal" immigrant, and the man who wants to feed his family and works hard is an "illegal" one.
I again point out that this "reasoning" is SIMILAR to making being Jewish illegal, than justifying hatred against them by saying they are illegal.
Anyone getting it yet?

Can you all get that through your thick heads???????
And would you please ANSWER my question? Or is that too much to ask?????

Attempting to draw a correlation between this and Nazis is pathetic. I get so sick of people dragging the Nazis into every single debate that I could just puke.
Firstly, those things that you mentioned we *gasp* jokes. They were jokes made in Anger. Nobody thinks we should actually do those things. Why don't you take a gander around the rest of the politics section and you will find the same banter going back and forth between the Lefties and the Righties. Both sides do it. Even the PC Lefties (actually they do it more). Get a sense of humor and get a grip!
Secondly, while there is huge a problem in the system it is still the ILLEGAL immigrants who are the problem as they are the ones abusing the system. Your assumption that all the illegals want to do is our dishes is completely absurd. After the 700 miles of border fence went up the crime rate in San Diego dropped ***** 50% *****. That is ASTOUNDING!! The fact is that they are criminals. If they have no compunction for their crimes when they enter the country illegally how do you expect them to have regard for the laws after they are in? Please watch the following video for accurate statistics on the ILLEGAL immigration problem.
EDIT: I read your question and my answer is 100% applicable. The difference between a joke in poor taste and actually killing someone if very obvious to anyone who can think. A joke is simply words (whether you agree with the poor taste or not). Murder is taking life. There is absolutely no similarity between it being illegal to be Jewish under no control of your own and being it illegal to knowingly commit a crime by actions. Under that spin there should be no laws at all. Once again, all the decent, law abiding, hard working individuals are welcome. Those are the ones that don't break laws and come here legally. There is no excuse for breaking the law.
EDIT 2: People understand what you are saying. They just don't agree with you. The terrorists being legal has nothing to do with this. Legal citizens commit crimes and murder every day. Some legal citizens are terrorists. That has nothing to do with ILLEGAL immigrants. Your correlation to the Jews is still absurd and non-applicable. Being Jewish hurts no-one. Illegally entering the country does.

What do you expect from the citizens of a country where it's government has stopped representing its people and has sold out to special groups?
Isn't that exactly what happened in 1930s Germany?
Isn't this what happened in 1850s USA?
What do you think will happen? Do you think the citizens of the USA will just roll over and accept the loss of their country and culture?
If so then you are as naive as the government.
Few realize that this country is on the verge of a revolt over the illegal alien issue. The majority of the people are very against amnesty (by any cutie name the politicans will tag it). Yet, it will happen. Then what? The economy will momentarially surge due to the influx of the now legal aliens. Then there will be a decrease in wages due to the sudden large number of now legal workers competiting for the same jobs. Then there will a depression due to less buying power. Then there will be a blaming of the problems on the amnesty and there will be a move to evict them.
The amnesty people, having gotten status, will resist being evicted. Then there will be a civil war citizens against aliens.
And the USA will lose territory, if not the war.
What do you suggest to stop this outcome? And do you think this will not happen? Look at history. Pick a country that once was great and then failed and see the similiarities.

I don't hate immigrants. I do not approve nor do I support those that knowingly break known laws by entering the country illegally.
Your missing a very large point of the problem by focus upon fringe comments that by no means reflect the whole of those against the breaking of immigration law.
The point - laws are being IGNORED by vast numbers of people that have burdened a vast majority of American's, strained school systems, caused the closing of hospitals, has brought vast crime into areas that never had such within them.
Every job that you bring up are jobs that Americans can and are willing to do. I know. I have an American woman, born here and raised within the United States that cleans my home. I pay her the proper wage and going rate. When my children were at home, I paid American citizens to do so. Clean streets? I live in the country. Any trash outside I pick up myself. I do my own gardening.
Sad thing is that you do not see just how racist your comments are in suggesting that the only thing that those that are illegal are good for are jobs that you evidently are too lazy to do yourself! How self righteous! How judgmental!
Then to make comments about "Nazis" to compare those to that are citizens that want laws enforced and not be broken - you really think such an approach is going to draw any to your point of view?
I am totally in favor of putting into effect the immigration laws of Mexico within the United States - if only to help the many that are breaking those laws to know before hand what is going to happen to them for breaking those laws. Much better than what is going on now for sure.

Interestingly enough I would argue that its not the immigration and immigrants people do have issues with but with folks who don't bother to assimilate in the culture, don't give a damn about learning the language and just behave like as if they are still in their beloved whatever. That really can drive anybody nuts. That is basically an underlying issue in all that immigration argument. And mind you, no one really objects to the immigration from Europe, Britain, Australia, the whole argument is about Mexico and Hispanics. And it is so easy to put land mines on the border, not that it should be done, of course. But honestly, all the crowds of illiterates crossing that border and then engaging in drug trade, organized crime and whats not is no way to glorified future of this country. And I think that the message should be send that crossing border illegally is the direct route to never ever becoming anything but a deportee.

I really wish both sides would calm down on the rhetoric and come up with a decent solution. Obviously, the sentiments you quoted were outrageous. Yet, at the same time, if we are to be a nation, we do need to have borders. It is a threat to our national security when we do not keep track of who is in our country.

Don't worry about it. This is what is going to happen. Sometime this year the "illegals" will become legal, pay fines and back taxes, have criminal checks. They will get their legal drivers licenses, insurance and be forced to pay back all the welfare and medical services they got fraudulently. Then all the people who were against "illegal" aliens but who were not racists will not have much more to say. The only ones left will be the real racists, who will not be able to hide behind the "illegal" label anymore and eventually they will have to shut up because our society does not tolerate open, unadulterated racial bigotry. Sure, a few crazies will start shooting people, but when they get the message that no one is joining them, they will go quietly back under their rock. People are just using the current debate to vent all the things they have always wanted to say but soon we will go back to the norm where it it is considered bad to immigrant-bash. I'm just not sure the immigrants will get the message and go back to the days when they hid their hatred for us.

I still want to know if they all just wanted to work why are so many sitting in prison for the next 30 years.Maybe they should of thought when in Mexico from being so broke and hungry that bringing any kids into the family is not such a good idea, when they themselves are broke and hungry. I think you should focus on why are people who have no food-no-work-no future are bringing kids into the world that they cannot even afford to feed or clothe. If you are so worried about Mexico go over there and tell them your displeasure also indicate how Mexico treats it's immigrants violates ever human abuse law on the books. You might tell us why we're the people of Mexico burning our flags, telling Bush how they hated America. Maybe it's time you start where the problem begins-like Mexico

ehh, I think you are in a very sorry state of refusing to see what's really going on with the illegal immigration.
Many immigrants came to this country to watch our children, clean out streets, wash our dishes without stealing people's identities, bankrupting hospitals and social welfare, lowering education standards by refusing to study and work, committing tremendous amount of crimes, destroying environment while crossing the border..........
oh, by the way, I just remembered that one of the pro-illegals' tactic is to compare the anti-illegal sentiment to that of the Nazi's.
NICE BLOODY TRY!!
and one more thing, other immigrants don't dig tunnels to get into this country, either

I get the same feeling. They claim that they detest illegal aliens but it seems that all of their questions are directed at foreigners or immigrants in general. I think they need to calm down. I've heard questions from people saying they should shoot people who cross the border or put land mines. That is murder! I'm against illegal immigration but I know not to let it consume me.
