Is it possible to cheat on a girlfriend//boyfriend without being with someone physically? besides doing it mentally

this may sound strange but i think there's definately such as thing as 'emotionally' cheating when there's no physical contact with another person but their are feelings there perhaps.
if a person is going out with someone else but they are not over an ex partner for example, and regularly keep in touch with this person and still have feelings for them, i think this is emotionally cheating.
if a person is going out with someone and gives their number out to another person and they flirt with them, text them behind their partners back etc knowing this other person has feelings for them then i really do think this counts as 'emotionally' cheating on someone.
i think a partner can absolutely definately betray their partner without physical contact.

technically, it's not cheating? you never mentioned what kind of mental. look at it this way...if you are thinking of someone else's besides the person you are with in anything physical or wanting anything other then friends, why are you with your boyfriend/girlfriend? it means you are not happy. harmless thoughts are ok, but it sounds like they aren't. so if you are thinking of others, just end it with the person you are currently with. sorry for the bad news

All cheating is is a betrayal to the relationship your in... the definition of that betrayal depends on you. The easiest way to figure out if it would be cheating would be to put yourself into your partners shoes and ask yourself if what your doing would hurt you
