I get ashamed of myself when I don't act like a Christian. Anytime I lose my temper or patience, I become very unhappy with myself. If I act prideful or superior, especially in front of someone else, even if it isn't overt, I get ashamed, and always wish I could redo that scenario. It's hard to act like Christ! But that is exactly what I wish I could do. I want so badly to consistently glorify God, but it sure isn't as easy as I want it to be. You would think that when you want so desperately to act in a certain way, you just would, right? Well, not with me. But I keep trying. I think that the best way to consistently act in a Christ-like way is to keep Christ on my mind. That means I need to keep going to church, read my Bible, pray, listen to Christian music, etc. Otherwise, I slip back into my old self-centered ways.

Being a Christian all my life, I was ashamed once, when I got drunk as a teenager. Not only was I ashamed, but I got sick. My parents knew what I had done and I was ashamed while being confronted by them. Went to church and asked God to help me , by not doing that again. Christians commit sin and the important thing is to realize it and try hard to avoid doing the sin , repeadedly. Use all the wisdom within .
But I did have lots of fun, getting drunk.(on Mad Dog ).

When you become a christian things like shame or guilt no longer applies or affects you in the way it does when your not a believer. You have a clearer understanding of what these emotions were meant for and how they should be used to teach and not destroy. A heavy burden of guilt accomplishes nothing, but remorse and regret motivated by guilt used to accomplish a changed heart or mind towards wrong is very beneficial.

Well, there's a Bible verse when Jesus says if we're ever ashamed of Him, He'll be ashamed of us before Our Father.
But yes, it has happened. I was at school, and I had Colossians 3: 13-16 written in my assignment notebook. I was writing down some homework, and a girl (snobby, mean, a bit rude, and kinda not intelligent) saw it and was like, Is that from the Bible?
I had a sudden urge to say, Noo, It's from the Geneology History book of Socrates or something like that. (I had circled Colossians to let her know it was from the Bible, but I guess people don't know that.)
So she gave this smile that was saying, You're kidding, right?
Now you know how immature middle schoolers can be (along with some adults) but I mean, I turned red. I know I shouldn't have felt like that, but she was really killing me there.
But I've repented, and if that happens again, I'll be proud (hopefully).
Btw, how can you be gay if you believe in the Bible?
Romans 1: 26-27
Therefore God gave them up to passions of dishonor; for their females exchanged the natural use for that which is contrary to nature;
27 And likewise also the males, leaving the natural use of the female, burrned in their craving toward one another, males with males committing unseemliness and fully receiving in themselves the retribution of their error which was due

Many times I have been ashamed of my behavior because it didn't match up to what God expected of me. In the same way as children who behave badly and know how their father would feel about it.
I used to be ashamed of other Christians who behaved horribly in public, but I realized God has to deal with them in His own way and it's no business of mine.

Ther have been times when I have been embarrassed by other Christians who thought they were too holy to associate with unbelievers
I would think to myself" Way to have an impact on society" and just cringe

I've never experienced that. I Have been embarrassed for a few other Christians, when they get that in-your-face-I'm-better-than-you attitude and demean or belittle others for not being Christian.

Everyone experiences shame at one time or another, Christian or not. What is the point of this question?
