i beleive the Nike shox MC is a training shoe so it would be good for in the gym. to answer your second question, Shox are basically used to give you more shox absorbance. i guess for example you want the extra bounce when you hit the ground hard it will help. if your interested in shox, try the Shox TL (full length shox) it will give you alot of cushioning throughout the midsole. so. i guess the MC will be good is you run on the tredmill but if its on the pavement you'de rather want another shoes like the TL. hope that helped

I easily HATE Nike Shox. I ve had some pairs of them in the previous and that they are the main uncomfortable footwear I ve ever worn. They led to me to get terrible shin splints at the same time as working and the worst heel blisters ever. I often like Nike, yet Shox are terrible and that i will in no way purchase them returned. Nike unfastened Runs are plenty extra useful.

Nike Shox are a TERRIBLE shoe to use for running. Nothing is great about them, in fact they may cause problems. From what I have heard from experienced runners (and being an experienced runner myself) they are not comfortable for running in because they hold your foot in a strange way, kinda like high-heels. I would go with a basic comfortable shoe like Asics of Mizuno

Shox are terrible running shoes. They might look cool but no specialty running store sells them. I would go with asics or nike shoes other than the shox.

Well people got to the "Nike shox suck" idea ahead of me. But I am here to reinforce that and tell you why!

Our foot is made to run barefoot. you notice if you ever run barefoot that your heels do not touch the ground. ((and if they do it hurts like hell!)) So now we know that we have evolved for thousands of years to be barefoot. shox, in example provide protection for something that shouldn't be happening. And, running like this could very easily cause shin splints, knee problems, and many foot problems because of the unused muscles in the foot. Now to prevent injuries by strenghtening your foot and lower leg, you could get nike frees, but that is too far of a step as it seems right now.

All in all, go mizuno/asics/saucony/new balance.

Nike shox may look great, but you are going to hurt your feet if you use them for serious running.

They're not great; you've just been bombarded by Nike marketing.

Asics makes good shoes if you spend over $80
