I've tried a strict diet and exercise program with Curves, The South Beach Diet and Atkins. Nothing works and I'm sick of being fat. Please tell me what worked for you and help me lose it.

you should do weight lifting exercises, it can help you lose weight. You should consume protein shakes before and after workout. You need to cut down high calories and eat normally, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner and no other snacks. The last thing you should do is to get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can cause wight gain.

I would do a couple of things:

First, see a doctor to make sure there isn't some medical reason for your obesity (e.g. hormonal or thyroid issues).

Second, have you metabolism tested professionally (some gyms offer testing). This is important so that you can get an accurate count of how many calories your body burns on a daily basis. Once you have this, you can use this in conjunction with a diet and exercise program to get the most effective results. As far as the testing goes, I'm not sure where you live, but I recently used a company in CA to get it done. www.getdunked.com. It is under the metabolic rate testing link. I'm sure if you do a google search for metabolic rate testing and your city you can find something near you.

Good luck and don't give up.

First off, diets are harmful. Once you quit them, you gain all of the weight back.

You need to change your life-style. Exercise daily, cut down on your food. Make sure you're only eating 2,000 calories a day and make sure you're exercising for at least an hour a day. You have to do cardio exercises also or else the fat won't melt off.

Diet pills are horrible, never use them. They are made out of caffeine and do nothing for your body or well being.

I suggest joining a sport, that's how I lost weight. I joined track. It'll be hard at first but it gets easier.

You need to want this for yourself, for your health...not just for your appearance. Be determined but don't get discouraged if you don't lose weight instantly. You should only be losing 1 to 2 pounds a week, depending on your basal metabolic rate.

You can actually speed up your metabolism with exercise.

So just exercise, stay away from pills and diets, try but don't be discouraged and make sure you drink a lot of water- it aids in body regulations. Also, you may want to have your colon cleaned because most people usually have at least 10 pounds of waste circulating in their colon.

Exercise, exercise, exercise! Especially low impact ones are good, like walking, biking, swimming. As for food, carbohydrates are not highly recommended, but it's all in the portions! Eat a well balanced meal three times a day. Don't skip breakfast! and don't eat too late in the day. I recommend not eating after 6 pm, if at all possible. If you MUST eat after 6, make it light, like a piece of rice cake with no topping. That should help. But you ARE only 16, so don't try to lose too drastically. I tried so hard but could not lose weight until I was in my late 20s.

The GI Diet Book

It puts all the good foods in green for go
Yellow foods are after you reach your goal in moderation
The reds are off limits.

It is all healthy eating. The nice thing is that you can eat as much as you want of the green foods and there is no strict Diet to follow with portions. It also teaches good food choices for life.

No diet will work if you don't stick to it and it is important to start some exercise even if it is just walking or biking. Give it time!

try the vegan raw food diet. this is the one demi moore did when preparing for her charlie's angel role -- and she looked pretty darn good. you eat all your food uncooked so it has the maximum amount of minerals and vitamins and most importantly, enzymes! so if a food has to be cooked or has been cooked, don't eat it. don't ever worry about counting calories, just eat raw food when you are hungry.

check out www.shazzie.com and read her journals about how she lost all her weight and how she transitioned from a cooked food diet to a living food diet. there are also a ton of before and after pictures of her and other people.

shazzie has my favorite site but do a search on "raw food" or "living food" and a bunch of links will pop up.

the thing is you have to be determined to reduce your weight and stick to the program long enough for it to start becoming a good habit. Weight loss programs do work but its up to you to stick to it.

no - underweight quite. My generic practitioner advised me that for a woman to be 5' tall precisely, a healthy weight is one hundred kilos. for each inch over 5' - upload 5 kilos. So utilising that, while you're 5'5", a healthy weight for you would be a hundred and twenty kilos.
