Siding is sold by the square. One square is 10 foot x 10 foot
or 100 square feet. Multiply the width x the height of the area to be covered and divide by 100. The average house requires about 20 squares. For the trim pieces, outside and inside corners use linear feet. This pieces are sold in 8 foot, 10 foot and 12 foot lenghts. Don't forget about soffit trim.
