Agnostic is the only logical answer in the sense that all other answers require a leap of faith (including Atheism). If you want to keep your feet on the ground, rather than taking any leaps, you are an Agnostic.
The only honest answer differs for each person. For a committed christian, christianity would be the honest answer and agnostic would be a lie.

I don't think so, even though I'm an agnostic. People who believe in God honestly believe in God. The existence of God is very real to them.
The people who don't believe are probably just as sincere.
I'm an agnostic because I believe that "the truth" about God's existence or non-existence cannot be known.

No, I think atheism is just as honest an answer. If someone tells me that leprechauns exist, I feel pretty confident saying that they don't because of a lack of evidence. The same goes for gods.

Yes...one never KNOWS so the only honest answer is agnostic. Religion is FAITH based, not fact based or scientifically based.

No. Honesty comes in stating things as exactly as you can to communicate exactly what you understand, think, believe, feel, and otherwise experience.
Agnosticism is only honest if that is what you believe. Furthermore, the very nature of agnosticism precludes any idea that you, I, or anyone can know what is or is not. We can believe, as much as any one else, in whatever we choose. We can only know our own interpretations of our own experiences. We cannot know another's interpretations of his own experiences. We cannot know what interpretations or experiences are true, if any.

De facto atheist. If I don't have to be agnostic about unicorns I don't have to be agnostic about gods. Are you agnostic about unicorns just because you can't prove they don't exist?

No. The only HONEST answer is different for each person based on their beliefs. Intolerance gets you nowhere.

Only if you are looking for empirical evidence for "God". Otherwise, it doesn't really matter. I don't think people are lying about believing. It's just a matter of Proof given from one person to another. Individuals find enough proof for themselves... doesn't matter if another doesn't see it or believe it.
