keep it moist first off. use dial unscented to keep it clean and moist ( it smells like your grandma, but works great) an ask your tattooist if he carries tattoo goo ( my tattooist does) if not then just use dial and unscented lotion. try not use a and d ointment , Vaseline or anything with lanolin. it tends to pull out the color. i have kept my art looking good doing that. so good luck and keep them out of the sun while healing.

Just put A & D on it. The lotion can be used after the scab goes away.

It is supposed to crack and flake. that is a scab. Under the scab is the tattoo, all you should have to do is keep it clean.
HELPFUL TIP:
If it itches slap it with an open palm, if you can't reach have some one with clean hands do it for you.

I use Aveeno lotion & it works great for me. Alot of the tattoo ointments out there are too greasy to use. This stuff is gentle and absorbs very well & if you keep on top of it, your tatt will heal faster.

why would you not put anything on it for five days? i'm not sure how your tattoo is going to end up looking but i have a feeling it will be less than great.

I usually skip to the lotion but non-scented kind so it doesn't irritate.

When I got my last tattoo they told me to use "Curel" fragrance free only-no A&D. It worked great.
