Why wasn't Wladimir Klitschko fight being viewed anywhere in Britain?
Why wasn't Wladimir Klitschko fight shown anywhere in britiain, before anyone say because ray austin was poor but ok wladimir made him look ten times poorer but still ray austin is ranked soo much higher than any british boxer has been since Lennox Lewis retired. Here is the proof of the latest Heavyweight ranking and this ranking was made after Wladimir destroyed Ray Austin in 2 round and there are no British heavyweight ranked in this list since the the word poor couldn't even describe them. Why the hell have these british fighter been shown soo many times on sky sport,1,2,3,4 Itv,1,2,3,4 and then have never shown the no1 fighter in the world.
I don't care if they don't show Ray Austin fight or even Calvin brock who was ranked no2 before Wladimir threw him down back in the gutter as you can see from the heavyweight ranking but calvin now is still ranked more higher than any british boxer

Because the fight was in Germany, ran on German TV (Free), and was co-covered by HBO (PPV, I think). Although Klitschko is from the Ukrain, he still fights out of Germany. It won't happen often (if at all) that Sky Sports will get prime coverage of a fight in Germany, espeically when HBO is also covering it and there are no English fighters fighting.

Having said that, you CAN get German satellite TV in the UK since it is running off the Astra satellites. Just get a German receiver and a double LNB.

I think it is definately because the British promoters have a strangle hold on what is televised. If the British promoters control who you see, thus, who you are familiar with, they can make TONS of money. And yes, it is a disgrace, I agree. I am sure the EBU or the Commonwealth Heavyweight champions are well known there. Personally, I couldn't name either one. Wait until the replay this weekend if you have HBO. Danny Williams is ACTUALLY #19 in the world rankings according to www.boxrec.com. I never thought Peter or Byrd or Brock were going to win against W. Klitschko. Here's what you do, go to www.youtube.com the next day, and type in Wladimire Klitschko vs the opponent you'd like to see him fight, most likely you can watch it..

Yeah i agree with what your saying but its not just the heavyweights id like to see its fighters from all the weight divisions such as Barrea, Pacquiao, Marquez, Arce, J Taylor, Mayweather etc. Last weekend they showed boxing on itv but it was just a fringe WBU world title fight with two fighters id never heard of, you can't get too excited about that.
As far as the poor british heavyweight scene yeah its not good at the moment but i would imagine David Haye will move up from cruserweight some time this year hes definately one to watch.

Politics is an ugly thing, and the politics of boxing is about as bad as it gets. $$$ dictates the path most of the alphabet organizations take, and integrity or even creditability can be bought and sold like baseball cards. The public is the victim in most of it, such is the way of things.

Have you put the question to the Promoter of the fight?
It could be that the media were not prepared to pay the price of the coverage or something completely different. Unless you know the answer to this, your negative comments about coverage are invalid.
