i am a christian too and i think it is okay to get a tattoo. it is your body and as long as you're not putting anything that is offensive to YOU or God or others then i really think you are straight. I mean i have one piercing and i mean it's okay. you should pray about that and i know god will answer you because he is always there. all i know that im most likely gunna get a tattoo and i will pray before i get it

God loves you and your tattoos and your piercings. You can tell people that tell you this that just because you have a tattoo doesn't mean God doesn't love you less or hes going to love you less or your going to be damned to Hell. Frankly its not about what your body is on the outside, you need to keep care of it and respect it, but I see a tattoo as a form of respect so I see no trouble in it. The most important thing is your relationship with God and just because you have a tattoo doesn't automatically mean your a hellian. The Bible says your body is a temple so you could look at this tattoo as a form of worship for your God that is the #1 Love of your life, so by worshiping God through this tattoo are you really corrupting your "temple"?

The bible does have commandments about not modifying your body but also think about the fact that the bible was written thousands of years ago. There is nothing wrong with it. I am christian as well and have five piercings, plans for more and getting my first tattoo soon. It isn't wrong for anyone to get a tattoo. Done legally it's their own body. I think your idea is cool. Is your friend trying to get you to not get it? My bet is that is what it is. If you want to and can and have thought about it so that it has a special meaning to you then cool! Go for it and I hope it turns out like you want it to.

I was brought up being of the christian faith. My boyfriend is a tattoo artist and I have many tattoos myself. The way I see it, people do alot worse things than put permanent art on their bodies and are still guaranteed a place in heaven. I can't really answer for god but I think he will still love you no matter what.

my friend has a sister she has devoted her life to god and his work, and has went all over the work to help in placest that are in need. She is the last person you would expect to have a tattoo but she has many, they are all small and tasteful and have something to do with a belief she has. When I asked her about them and why it was ok she said that her body was the temple of the lord it was a way to show and express her faith as well as her self..... I dont think it is wrong

In the days of wooden sailing ships, one of the punishments for sailors who violated ships' law were lashed with a whip.
Many of these sailors had religious tattoos put on their backs in hopes that the whip wielder would be a religious enough man not to use the whip on a religious figure. ie: a figure of the Madonna or Christ. Today, many "Christians" have tattoos that announce their faith.

my personal opinion:
it is just ridiculous to even think about this being forbidden.
And it is a total waste of time thinking about such nonsense. .
I am not talking about the tatoo!
Although for a personal reason I am not a big fan of tatoos ( visually), I think it is horrifying to hear Christians say the bible forbids that?!
Where on earth? I believe in Jesus and his salvation and have read the Bible for many years, but what does a tatoo have to do with the verse that coments on us being a temple etc... Honestly, thousands of people in the world are starving, dying from bombs. Many Christinas in china are in prison for their faith in Jesus. let's focus on things that matter!. And not get distracted from God's main will - loving him and our neighbors - with such littlenesses.
For sure Christians that confuse others by making up additional rules that do not exist in the Bible will have to justify on the judgement day.
Of course God wants us to believe his word, but definitely he is not the one trying to make our life more difficult than it is.

I believe that its against the Jewish religion to get a tattoo. However, I've never heard of anything in the Christian religion being against them.
I have 6 and never felt that I sinned or anything. So I'd go ahead and do it.
