my bf suggest me to choose myself in the market what i want as new year gift..i said i dont want him to go to any trouble but he insisted and he took me to a shoe store..and finally i chose a cheap pair of sandals..and oh he spend a long time on asking for discount and at the end when he couldnt get any discount when we get out of the shop he said..i just gave up because u were with me or i would get discount by any cost..i always feel money is very important for him and even once i saw in his notebook every peny which he pay..even the ice cream which he buy for me or a chew gum he eat..and once he asked me if my father have saved any money for me or not..im thinking about breaking up with him because i feel he is very mean..

He's just frugal but there is overkill.
This man really needs you to be honest with him if you want to try to make it all work and I suggest you both participate in a financial counseling course.
Also you may need to address his need to be controlling.
He may have issues he has yet to address about his own behavior and in that case he may need professional help. Control and anger go hand in hand. Meanness is part of all that.
If you feel you need to break it off I would encourage you to do it gracefully so as not to create further confrontation.
Also his competitiveness needs to be addressed. He will never have any kind of relationship with anyone with that attitude. Women need to be made to feel special - not beaten down.
