There are many vegan foods/meats. If you in particular are thinking about how to get the proper amount of protein, make sure to include a lot of legumes in your diet: beans, chick peas, peas, etc. Some of the other vegan foods you can buy at the grocery store that you are maybe not familiar with are: tempeh, which is a fermented soybean cake, seitan (wheat gluten, used in place of stuff that would have ground meat in it), of course soy burgers (check the box for eggs etc.), and tofu. A vegan diet CAN be extremely healthy, much more so that the Standard American Diet IF it is done properly. When available, eat the least processed food available. Eat a wide variety of whole foods: plenty of greens, beans, whole grains, fruits and veggies and make sure to take a supplement for B12, because this is the only nutrient that a vegan diet cannot provide. Good luck!

BTW, I took your question to mean you were asking for available options for a vegan to eat... If you were asking which I prefer: Although I am more of a Vegetarian than a Vegan: Vegan all the way

I'm very confused on this whole issue. I've always wanted to be vegetarian. I don't agree with being vegan, I don't think it can be healthy. I struggle with the moral issue of eating meat, but then I believe it's natural. I also realise that if we were all vegetarian, there would be no livestock in the fields. Cows would be kept for milk, but sheep would become extinct as we no longer need natural fibres.
I have decided that my issue with eating meat is with the manner in which it is kept and slaughtered. I think it needs to be completely re-engineered.

I like eating meat better than anything vegan, but I've had a veggie burger, which wasn't too bad.
