ok i understand there worried about the ozone but why? it happened thousands of years ago and it will happen again, and nothing we do or anyone else can do will stop it

this carbon thing there on about just another stealth tax,
why do we take this from the government ,
we are a little country that acts like its huge and can save the world NO,,,,,,,,,,,

theres the we all have to do our bit to save the plannet

then all day on the news you hear about the triden ?
strange in one breath there worried about the ozone

and in the next they want weapons that could wipe out the human race in a fraction of the time ???

I can understand you confusion. there is too much media hype on these issues by journalists that know very little on the environment.
First of all Carbon dioxide pollution does not effect the ozone layer. The ozone is on average increasing. However this is seasonal, but on average it has been increasing since the banning of CFC's in the late 80's

Secondly, carbon tax or credits only profits governments. They are the ones collecting the money. They may say that they are putting the money back into the environment. But can you trust a government to do that? The politicians will get a big fat pay rise before that happens.

First carbon has nothing to do with ozone, and ozone has nothing to do with global warming.

Second, I think it is just a tax. But there is at least a possibility that the tax money COULD be used to develop new clean technology. If you trust the government to do that and not spend it on a war or some pork barrel project.

I would like to report that the ozone layer is fine. The pollution is too low to affect the ozone layer. The ozone layer is created when the solar winds collide with the earth's magnetic field. The CO2 and methane green house gas is a joke.

what ever happening you can be sure that we will be taxed for it,not because they care about the environment but because they can use it as an excuse to get more money from us.
Green is the BIG IN word of 21st century with the political parties until the next one arrives.
if they really cared about the environment, they would make solar power,wind power ,less polluting cars ,planes,etc more easily available and cheaper.

They need to generate tax to make up for the tax they are now loosing from smokers that are being treated like lepers and forced to give up.
