in pre-school, kids dont always look forward to nap time. It seems that now in High School, all we want to do is sleep insted of doing our work.

Actually, science has shown that a short nap, meditiation, or something similar in the afternoon helps improve creativity and awareness. However, the catch is to NOT take to long of a nap.

I totally agree with you!

Most districs start high school really early, and most of the kids have to get up even earlier to perfect their makeup three times before catching a very early arriving bus. I, personally, have to get up at 4:45 AM to make it to school on time. The saddest part is that doesn't seem like an indecent hour to be awake anymore, not in my life at least. Then, there are the late night movie outings. By the time lunch comes, half of the high schoolers are only half awake. I think a nap really would help. People do need sleep, especially high schoolers. It does seem odd or akward, but I do think if schools allowed for a certain amount of time a day for teens to take a quick nap (heard of those? there are whole articles on them. some work places are actually making their workers sleep for 15 minutes a day because it helps keep them working efficiently. I think I read that in Newsweek? the article was a while back though) But seriously, as childish as it sounds at first, naps in highschools really would be a good idea.

I do think naps during high school could improve grades but like all advantages kids have they will not use the time wisely. It's like study hall. Instead of doing homework they end up texting friends and listening to ipods.

I think more students staying awake from naps would improve grades. The problem is motivation and and attitude. I wish there was a way to play these kids' life forward so they could where their life is going to lead if they don't wake up!

I think naps would help because teens don't get enough sleep. If kids won't sleep at home maybe they should have a nap time.
