Did God make man higher or lower than the angels?

Question

Mankind, after Adam and Eve's fall, are lower than the angels. But originally, were we above them?

I'm pretty sure He made us almost as equals. Although he made us in His image, the angels were there before we existed. They are God's heavenly messangers. This is where I am confused though... He died for US, but hasnt died for the angels. Would he die for the angels if the sinned? Well, he kicked the Satan-follower angels out of heaven. He never died for them. So I think we are either equal or just alittle higher, but not lower. I hope this made since to you!

It says in Psalms 8:5 that mankind was MADE a little lower than the angels. In my opinion the order refers to how close a being was able to worship God. In my thinking angels are higher because they created to enter the throne and worship. Humans were created to live on earth and worship God.

Well, man was made perfect like the angels before the fall. We had communion with God. I would think we were at the same level as the angels before this all happen. Now were lower than them.

man is lower than angels in physical power, but not authority or charachteristics of being. in the latter two, man is higher than angels (or demons).

Sorry but I can't remember scripture off-hand. It's mentioned in psalms i think that man is made a little lower than angels but when we die we become adopted children of God so we are higher at that point.

you're not going to find a whole lot in the bible, as the bible doesn't really talk a whole lot about angels.

I believe that God made man above the angels. God gave man free will...the option for us to follow Him or not. Angels don't have that luxury.

that is a great question. this may not be the reason why, but this is my opinion. i would say yes, because the people who got turned into agels have gone through life, and have entered heaven. you havent entered heaven yet, so until you enter heaven, the angels will be higher. god bless you.

it depends what you call higher and lower. man is unique in the sense that they have free choice which angels dont have(according to judaism)
