any ideas for getting to know a guy better? i just want to go up and talk to him but im really shy. so i have never talked to him before so i need some conversation starters. how would you guys know it was obvious that a girl was interested in you by the way she came up and introduced herself?

If she walk up to the guy and touched him a lot and gave him a kiss.....the guy would get the clue she liked him.
You can talk about anything. Laugh at his jokes...most importantly the dumb ones.

If he is wearing a watch - ask him the time (making sure your cell is hidden and you're not wearing a watch), and then maybe compliment him on the watch.
Idle chit chat, after that.........I've actually done this a few times - the first few words are the hardest after that just go with it.
