Actually, computer screens do give off radiation, but the dose is very negligable. We are talking about a very small amount of millisieverts. So don't worry, you won't get enough exposure to get any significant side effects.

Hey, people are getting cancer from their cell phones, and crt's (cathode ray tubes) put out a heck of a lot more radiation that cell phones.

Microwave towers cause cancer.

High-tension power lines cause cancer.

Being in all these electromagnetic fields is not good for the human body.

The old CRT screens were quite bad from this aspect but modern flat screens have negligible radiation.
