Before I go to sleep, actually just when I pull my covers on, I feel like a tingling sensation, or actually an itchy sensation all over my legs. Sometimes I really have to get out of bed and scratch them a few times, but the itch comes back after approx. 20 minutes.

This lasted for a year already. I wash myself regularly, I sleep alone, I haven't changed my bed in a few years.

I experience it when I have to stand still for some time, and it's really irritating, because I can't think of anything else then.

Any suggestions?

If you are taking a hot shower just before going to bed, the hot water is probably drying out your skin. If you are doing that, try taking a short, warm shower. That should stop the itching.
