Racism is a two way street in most countries however in the UK the yogurt knitting left wing huge a tree do gooders have made it almost a sin for white British people to be complain about racism against them. In this county you can be British welsh, British Scottish but not British English. If you run a Union Flag up outside you house at any time other than the world cup then you must be a raving right wing fascist.

Racism, Sexism, Age-ism, Size-ism

It's all a one way street.

There's an advert on telly where 3 women in a cafe throw something on the floor to look at the waiters' rear. If it was 3 guys doing that to a waitress, then there would be an uproar. Fair? I don't think so.

I am very tall and EVERY day of my life for nearly 10 years I get, 'aren't you tall?!' 'how tall are you?!' 'do you play basketball?' the list goes on... It's just an observation and it's harmless really. My point is if someone says that to me who is for example, over weight, it is very rude for me to say 'aren't you fat?!' 'You must eat a lot...' etc. Again it is only an observation but it is seen rude. Fair?! I don't think so...

I think if you look at history, everything has a reason. It's not a one way street now at all, but racism has swung back and forth for years.

Still, what are you gonna do? Like my Daddy always said to me:

"Just make sure what YOU do (or say) is right..."

It is never acceptable to insult someone this way, I believe.

I am black and no black person should ever call anyone white trash, even kidding. You are right, if you called a black person a n***** they would (rightfully) go ballistic.

Poppadom?

OH YES. You must be from England. Because I was going to say that the only place I have ever heard black people say "white trash" so offhandedly is in Britain.

Please tell them, even if they think they are being light-hearted and joking, look them in the eye and say:

"New day here. You would not like me to call you out of your name, even in jest. Don't say that around me and you shouldn't say it at all."

I would add that we are all children of God and Christ and that racial history is no excuse for their current racism, but that might be a bit wordy for you.

If they look at you like you are from the moon (I have had this happen to me after being called out of my name) then stare back and say "you heard me".

If you hear these comments, say in a store or such, I would do the same.

This kind of thing ends only when we put a stop to it.

Very good point and shows that people have a stereotypical view on what racism means. These situations are racist as well as calling something racist just because a white person says it to a black. If the black person said it to the white nobody would even care. Good question.

Racism is honestly no longer a one way highway. there is something referred to as opposite discrimination, that's what got here approximately in the Sotomayor listening to with reference to the firefighters you likely heard approximately on television. additionally, using fact of affirmative action, the States are required via regulation to confess a undeniable style of minority pupils each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. comparable for employers. hence, whether a minority is qualified or no longer, some employers are compelled to hire the minority individual. as far as scholarships go and issues like that, colleges provide scholarships for just about something at the instant. you will get a scholarship once you're a undeniable top. additionally, a number of states are nonetheless paying reparations for families of former slaves. between the least confusing way for reparations to be paid is in certainly one of those scholarships and can provide. wish this facilitates. And to help make sparkling something a pair of solutions have already mentioned....a minority would properly be racist against yet another minority. Racism is a term used for persons who're discriminated against and who're hated soley in accordance with race. So every person would properly be racist.

It isn't a one way street and saying that only shows that you are ignorant. Yes it's obvious that many people turn their heads when a black guy says something racist to a white guy but not everyone does that. Fish and chips is not offensive, it is a type of food that many British people eat and still do eat. That is not racism but a STEREOTYPE get it right. If you are wondering WHY SOME people make it a one way street it's because if you make all racists in the world equal 100% about 60% of all racists are white. Therefore the white man is judged because of that which is wrong. Why would you call someone a racist word anyways? If someone calls you something racist or offensive be big enough to walk away or fear getting your *** kicked when you say the wrong thing.....

Racism goes both ways. Even though the world may seem to be offended more by one side, I'm sure the feelings of the other race is hurt as well. Some people just don't show their emotions as much as others. And some people aren't bother by the stupidity that comes behind racist remarks.

First of all I want to say that if we live in a politically correct country then in theory no one has the right to insult another person based on their race, creed, religion ethnic origin etc. This is irrespective of whether a person is black or white. But the truth is ...it doesn't work that way.

The reason I think that people kick up a stint about racism concerning ethnic minorities, is because they are minority (all ethnic minorities put together do not make up 20% of the population) . When you are an ethnic minority e.g I'm a black woman who lives in England, people seem to have preconceived idea about you based on stereotypes which is often an unfair misrepresentation. I mean think about it I bet you can think of loads of stereotypes about Blacks and Asians, and not that many about Whites as individuals (and I'm talking about class or regional background).

If you want to blame someone for the hang ups on race relations, blame the government. It is them who tell you to be politically correct, and what is and isnt considered racist.

Hold on.....the majority of people who make these decisions in government aren't they .................WHITE!!!

Racism is a form of group identity in the sense that to highlight the difference between groups, eg colour, is to say that one does not belong to that specific group. No group is safe from racist abuse, no group is free from racists. The term 'Racist' implies a severe hatred of a particular person or group by way of colour but is overstated in some cases because the media has an interest in selling their product. There is no doubt that some people have a pathalogical hatred of others by reason of 'race' but it is a sad fact that some people will absolve themselves from blame simply because they are coloured.
Britain is supposed to be a multicultural society in all that implies. A melting pot. Everybody should be treated the same in the eyes of the law. Sadly, politicians will bend over backwards to please some groups because they are different, and punish others because they are not.
