To the lady who said I am not a breeder and my dog is not of breeding quality - Yes she is of breeding quality she is a beautiful great dane and the father is too - I am going to seperate them during her next heat cycle to give her a break and was just wondering if it could be sooner than what the vet said Everybody has to be a beginer sometime and yes I am a beginer at breeding. So don't judge if you don't even know - How rude.

This is for Tina you do not breed a dog back to back like that. A dog should only be bred once a year.

Next heart depends on the dog. I wouldn't count on exactly 6 months. When a dog has puppies it throws them off a little so she maybe be a month or weeks later coming into heat. And please don't breed a female on the next heat cycle. They need to get their strength back. Only breed a dog once a year and after your vet says she is alright to do so.

that depends on the dog and what there cycle is. you figure there heat starts and they get pregnant. 63 days of pregnancy. If your dog runs on a 6 month cycle like large dogs then 4 months would be about right. mine run 7 months and one runs 9 so I would get 5 months or 7 months. my friend has been a breeder for 15 years and one dog went a whole year without a heat. so really depends on the dog.

My female (chinese shar-pei) had a litter nov.1st and came into heat when pups were 10wks old. but i had already had mom/dad seperated just incase. always be prepared for early as it can happen. as breeding dogs back to back is extremly cruel and hard on mom and im pretty sure you wouldnt do that too your dog. :-) good luck with the new additions i bet the are beautiful!!

Frequently its when they would come in normally if they had not been bred so if your dog has the common heat cycle interval of 6 months it would be 6 months after the last HEAT. if she cycle shorter or longer it would match.
