I take 2 perscriptions for complex partial seizures 2 times a day. I AM going to the doctor to have my levels checked. However, at the moment it feels as though my medication starts wearing off before I should take the next dose. My body is "addicted" to this stuff and I HATE that. Why would this happen? Meds too high or too low? Body rejecting it? Happened to anyone else?

Your body is an amazing thing, it works in such a complex way that scientist are still discovering new things about it. However, I've been told by Dr's that the bodies cells when exposed to medication over a long period can start to re act or change the effectiveness of the medication. My guess is that your body has just built up an immunity to your meds. Maybe a med change is necessary, however, please contact your Dr before you alter any dosage amount, and let him know your concerns. Everyday new medications are made that are better and more effective then the one's they replace. Call your Dr. And Good luck!

i would think that with any medication taken for a long period of time will make your tolerance to the medicine go up.. My meds get changed every so often due to addiction and tolerance..

maybe a change in your diet changed the chemistry in your blood or whatnot to make this happen
