Well, my friend and I both went to get our navels pierced. While she was cleaning hers for the first time, she told me that she passed out twice during the proccess...is this normal for some people, or is it a sign of something worse? The piercing was only in for about 6 hrs before she fainted while cleaning it. Thanks!

Not really normal to pass out while cleaning a piercing, but since it had only been 6 hours, its hard to say. Her body still could have been in a slight shock from the piercing, but it shouldn't happen

I would keep an eye on her and the piercing, if she's still passing out, I would contact the piercer who did it and see a doctor.

Maybe fainting right after the piercing is quite normal, but if she fainted after 6 hours, I don't think that's normal at all. She might consider having it check by a doctor just to make sure. Maybe the fainting wasn't really connected to the piercing.

That is not common.

Cleaning should not cause you to faint. Cleaning should consist of doing a sea salt soak, and should feel good, not bad so that you pass out.

Was she turing the jewelry (big no-no)? If it happens without being associated with cleaning her piercing, she should seek medical attention.

no thats not normal. its not the piercing itself that has caused this.. i did almost pass oout when i stood up afger i got mine pierced. for that reason this is why they kept askign me if i wasnted any snacks or sodas to eat before i got the piercing.

make sure she eats something! she needs to eat more sugary foods if this is happening to her.. also tel her to go and get checked otu by the docotrs.. but it isnt the piercing itself.. its the adrenaline and not having aenough foro in her system...
