An open door? Either leave it closed or get a baby gate.

ok..this is how you do it..
First put a long leash (6 ft) on the dog..get the soft webbed kind. Have a friend hold the end of the leash and you can open the door, when the dog tries to run out..yank back on the leash and shout..NO! Make sure you stop the dog before they get to the threshold of the door.
It doesn't take too long for them to get the idea that they cannot just run out whenever the door is open.

It is commonly referred to as door crashing and is a problem that can escalate to the point were he will literally knock whoever is in his way over in order to get out the door.
One of the first exercises that I teach when introduced to a new student is doorway etiquette. Simply it is teaching the dog that he may never lead through a door or narrow passage way. It has a wonderful effect on a large number of undesirable behaviors, including door crashing.
Put your dog on his leash and make him sit and stay. Now you step through the door, as you pass the threshold say, 'let's go' (or whatever command you like). If at any point the dog tries to get out ahead of you or does get out ahead of you, pull him back in 'quickly' and put him right back in the sit-stay. Do the exercise at every doorway in the house, both ways (into and out of each room). 3 -5 15 minute sessions a day for 3 days should help to correct the problem. The cure is in your consistency and repetition of the exercise and your refusal to allow him to enter or exit the room without your leading him.
Good Luck

whenever your dog comes in contact with the door...like you taking it in and out, you make sure the dog sits and stays until you call it out....you can do this with every door you encounter, and over time the dog will show you its getting the idea by sitting and staying at the door...but, hurry up and teach it quick, full force at first...like a million times a day for the first week...you know, use treats if you have to...

Teach the dog to "sit "and "wait" at the door. Practice at back door w/ leash on. Give treats when doggie listens. I have my dog "wait" at every door. Then i tell him when to come in or out. It comes in handy when pizza guy comes to the door. I also use "wait" when getting out of the car.

You call a trainer, or train it to stay when you say "STAY", first practice with the dog on a leash, tied to something, with the door open, if it follows you outside, scorn it back it, and use treats, hope this helps ^_^
