And for the atheists: Why is that price too high?

(Yes, of course I know the answer to that last one. I just like to hear how others put it. Indulge me?)

Well, there's the "actual" cost of some religions -- 10% (tithe) of your income.
Then there's the time you spend praying (when there's nobody to hear), worshipping (when there's nobody to worship), trying to convert others to your particular brand of delusion...

It's too high because life is short. You've only got ONE life, here and now. That life might be anywhere from 20 to 120 years or so -- to waste one precious moment of it on silly superstitious practices that are demonstrably false is the high cost. You'll never get those moments back, they'll be gone, and they will have been for nothing. Huge waste.

Peace.

the price of belief is being humble.

it will cost true believers THEIR LIFE.
as it is written that those who do not accept the mark of the beast They will be beheaded.

an interesting side bar:
just recently there was a movement to ban hanging and replace hanging and lethal injection with beheading. Someone i heard on the news said that beheading is less painful and torture because a person doesnt feel anything.

Cruel and unusual punishment has been defined as both lethal injection and hanging. if this type of law comes to pass, it will fulfill the prophecy described in the book of revelation.

on a different note! a person who becomes truly a witness for God and Jesus, will become banished from civilization. as john the baptist lived in a cave so will those that actually teach the truth.
also consider that in a false society ruled by satan, ALL prophets and witnesses and teachers will be Killed by those that are in power. in the name of keeping power.

When I was a believer, I freely gave time, energy, emotional strength, and funds to that belief. Those were the costs -- freely given, but costs all the same.

Why is it too high now that I'm a non-believer? Because I could have used those things to much better good without filtering them through faith in a deity first, but rather solely because they were the right things to do.

Popularity often times. People often judge you. Someone finds out you're a christian and all the sudden they assume you're stuck up and think you're better than every body else. This is pretty much what I've experienced. Nothing compared to what some Christians in other countries have to go through though. All in all, the love that God gives us, and His forgiveness, and His wonderful promise of an eternity in heaven, is way worth anything we could ever suffer for Him in our life here on earth.

The price is too high to believe out of fear. If there is no life after death then I can accept that, for believers they can't. I want facts, not myths. I want the truth, and really the price to believe it too high because I will not sacrifice myself.

Without knowing what type of belief you're referring to, it's difficult to respond. Since this is the religious category...I'll presume it's belief or unbelief in God. If so...Believing in the Lord results in eternal life, freedom of all the consequences of sin, and a relationship with the Lord. Unbelief, results in eternal separation from God, and what the Lord has named Hell. In short, what you believe is a life or death decision. Miji

I'm a believer and it dosn't cost me a thing. The bible says...
"For the wages of sin is death, but the FREE gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus of Lord and Savior." Romans 6:23

It cost me, some of my Friends for a while. They now have come to see the light.
It costs me sleep, as quite often I am awake all night in warfare.
In retrospect it costs me nothing at all compared to what not Knowing God will cost millions of people, including you if you do not accept what was done for you on that cross.

You are talking about status for all eternity. Of course the price is very very higher than you can possibly comprehend!
