If you just want to crop for a specific measurement:

Open the pic and go into Image Resize (or whatever your photo-editing software calls the Resizing function).

Pick the dimension (Width or Height) with the shortest new length. (Set the Pixels per Inch if you want.) Do the Resize.

Now your pic is correct in one dimension.

Launch the Rectangular selection Tool. Use it to crop off some of the other dimension so you have selected the new correct size.

Now do Edit Copy, File New, Edit Paste.

The new file will be in the new dimensions you wanted. Save it!

Close the original file without saving it.

Go to cropping tool and set the dimensions and pixels.

What software are you using? Coreldraw and Photoshop have two different methods
