how can i convince my mom to let me go a little? to stop being so overprotective of me. i'm 13, but really, i have to have an adult there when i'm at somebody's house and i have to have supervised dates. any tips? plus i want to go to the keiki club and have big parties. somebody help

Honey you are 13. I have a daughter that will be 14 at the end of the month and over my dead body would she be doing the things you are asking to do. Children need to spread their wings but if you give them to much room to spread thats when they go bad. I do not know of many instances where kids were supervised by responsible adults that they drank, did drugs or had sex. When your 18 and out of the house you can party, until then stick to school functions or adult supervised situations

And to the idiot child who said if her mom was dead her life would be way better, I lost my mom 3 yrs ago and I USE to think the same thing trust me my life isnt better a huge piece of me died w her that day. Get your head out of your a** and understand she is trying to raise you right so that you do not go through life as a F up!

don't even try she is just trying to keep you out of trouble. At 13 you shouldn't even be dating My kids were much older when they started to date and the also had to have an adult there when they went to someone house. i always say be a kid as long as you can because you have to be an adult for a very long time. I don't think your mom is being overprotective with you she is just doing what she should as your mom.

Honey,you're only thirteen.Your mom is just trying to do what's best for you.She loves her little baby,and she doen't want anything to happen to you.And the Keiki Club?If my daughter were thirteen,I would never let her go to a club.Or have parties with boys at them.I can see about the house,that's not right.Talk to your mother about it,and if you sound mature,she might give in.

I grew up in a strict household where my dad didnt realise i had grown up, but mum did. She let me do some of the girly things without him knowing, but i felt bad sneaking around him. Tell mum how you feel, and earn her trust, you may be surprised at her reaction, after all she was 13 once herself too!

sadly, get used to it, she'll be overprotective until you're at LEAST 16. You're lucky that she is even letting you go on dates...most 13 year olds I know have to sneak around.
