When cats rub against your legs, it could one of many reasons. One, they could be hungry, two, they just want attention, and three, they need to get the excess winter fur off their backs. Now, when you are going down the stairs, that is probably the only time you are not talking to anyone or doing anything, so your cat might be trying to get attention, and getting some one-on-one. Your legs are moving, so it is impossible to jump up or paw on your legs, so the cat does what it does, weave around your legs. My advice is, get some cat nip, some furry mice, and pet your cat while you are watching T.V., listening to music, anything!

She's trying to help your co-ordination skills. She does this because she's read the Basic Rules for Cats Who Have a House to Run, it's covered in section 6.8.

the cat is trying to destroy you. lol. nah im just kidding. the cat just wants to play with you. too bad its on the steps.
my cats that i have now are obsessive compulsive. one would chase its tail and the other would start to hack when it was laying by me.
cats have a dumb habit of walking through your legs when youre trying to go somewhere or whenyou open the door to let them in/out they would look at you like youre a bozo.

Im particular the cat received't the more beneficial volume to vacation you.....until eventually you deserve it..yet its uncertain. Its likely attempting to get your interest so youll provide it affection. possibly attempt petting him? Cats like that. or maybe no longer calling the unfavourable issue a rotten B. possibly you should judge giving it away to a more beneficial useful homestead the position the owner wont imagine its a rotten b.?

Cats like to race ahead of people. I would try to throw a toy ahead of you and get her to chase it. That way she will already be at the bottom of the stairs when you start going down.
Good Luck

I have had cats my entire life. (many) At some time they have all run under my feet. I think that they just get in a hurry and don't realize they will be throwing you down. It just seems to be a "cat thing".

Oh yea, They do this to get our attention. It is also their way of saying I am hungry or pet me. I have 10 cats. I guess I am lucky I have no stairs for them to trip me on. The sweet little guys know how to get our attention.LOL....Be Careful!!!!!

This is standard and annoying cat behavior. Mine does it too. He has given me dirty looks a few times when i have accidentally stepped on him while he is in the middle of doing this - like it's my fault!!!! It's a way of getting attention but, boy is it annoying!

Maybe she just wants your attention. She might think that you are leaving whenever you are going downstairs, so she is trying to stop you. Or she's trying to kill you and make it look like and accident. Your choice!
