i have a cat and 2 small doggies. when i take my cat to the vet he always calls a few hours after or the next day to see how she is doing same with the dogs.
my cat is 18 and he found she has some form of cancer. he calls every week to see how she is doing... isn't that unussual? my family doctor seldom calls. when i call her she is hardly there to pick up. if if i have a question i have to make an appt to see her no matter how trivial...comments anyone? please

My vet does the same thing.Very few do tho.The really good, caring ones are few and far in between unfortuneately.
I went thru several vets before finding this one.I have to drive 20 miles one way to see her but I don't care. She's the 2nd most important person in my dogs life so I'd drive farther.
Her prices are a little higher on some things than other vets in the area but I understand that she gives shots once a month to low income owners for free.So I really don't mind paying a little extra to help her cover her cost of the vaccines.
It really makes me mad that more are'nt like her.But it's reassuring to hear there's at least one more out there.

Here is a story for you..I took my cat to the vets and like you said they called the next day to see how she was doing. Calling Calling and Calling. Her last visit to the vet I no sooner got in the door when they called to see how she was doing. I thought that was strange since I was there just five minute's ago. So I ask her some questions. One.. when was I there..she did not know...I ask her what was wrong with my cat she did not know.. I ask her what kind of animal I just brought in ..she did not know... I love my vet dearly I would not take my animals anywhere else..but if you really think they are calling to see how your animal is they have no clue who what or where. The receptionist are just doing their job..

most vets that i have delt with have a better "bedside"manner then most doctors. infact when i was a kid my dad would go to our vet insted of to the Dr.

no I don't think so. and I would rather have the doctor I work for than my family doctor.
