No, I just had my maid of honor (my best friend) and that was it. I didn't want any girls to show me up!!! Just kidding! Of course, I wanted to be the center of attention and that is how it should be!!!

My sister didn;t have any bridesmaids at her wedding, but she just had a civil ceremony in a park. I've heard of a lot of people not having bridesmaids, either because of the cost of dresses or because they didn't want to pick favourites amongst their friends.

No, you don't. We aren't having any, as we really don't want most of the traditional trappings associated with today's weddings. We are getting married on a beach with family and some friends present. His mom asked who would stand up for us if we didn't pick bridesmaids, and my answer is everyone there will be standing up for us!

Of course you don't have to have them. The only things you HAVE to have by law to get married is the bride and groom, an officiant, a marriage license and two witnesses. Everything else is optional that you can pick and choose from. I've been married three times, and I've never had bridesmaids, just never saw the need for them.

You don't need bridesmaids, but wedding planning can be very stressful and its nice to have those specific girlfriends to turn to.
Also, your bridesmaids throw your shower, is your mom going to throw yours? Or are you not having one?

You don't have to have bridesmaids. However, you do need two witnesses to sign the marriage license after the ceremony.

No, you do not have to have bridesmaids. I didn't have any at mine. The only requirement is an officiant (the minister), the bride and groom and a witness. Good luck!

Just friend that want to share your day with you.... you don't have to have them. You just need someone to sign marriage licenses which normally the maid of honor does.
